Richard has been with SiliconX Construction since May of 2019. He joined the company from Pacific Ridge Builders, Santa Clara-based commercial general contractors, where he was lead carpenter.
With SiliconX, Richard manages a broad scope of construction activities including logistics and operations functions for ongoing commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects. Key tasks include: organizing the scheduling of subcontractors and continually monitoring their performance efficiency. In addition, he ensures that the firm complies with work orders and permits, manages project costs, and makes certain that safety procedures are strictly adhered to in every respect.
In addition to his experience with Pacific Ridge Builders, Richard has worked as a carpenter for several other local general contractors, including Fernandes & Sons in Campbell and his family’s business, Amato Construction in San Jose. He was born in Pioneer, a small mountain town located in the Sierras not far from Kirkwood ski resort. But he’s been a Silicon Valley resident for many years, since his teens at Branham High School.
Richard lives with his family in San Jose. When he’s not overseeing a quality SiliconX TI project, you can find him riding BMX bicycles, dirt bikes, cars or motorcycles — or flying down a snowy slope on his snowboard.
